Spring Plant & Seed Swap
April 11 @ 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Join us for a Spring Plant & Seed Swap!
Bring your extra houseplants, seeds & seedlings, cuttings, transplants, questions and advice to swap with fellow plant lovers! Indoor plants. Outdoor plants. We love them all. There will be activities for the whole family including making wildflower seed bombs and bird bingo to take home. Plus! We will have 70 native Missouri tree seedlings to give away compliments of the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Items to bring:
- House plants you don’t want any more (pest-free, please)
- House plant cuttings in water or soil
- Vegetable or other garden seeds (in case you didn’t use that whole package of cucumber seeds this year!)
- Vegetable or other garden seedlings
- Plants you’ve divided this year (We’re looking at you hostas and ferns)
- Garden tools – clean and in working order
- Flower/plant pots – clean
Details:
- This is a free swap event. No plants are to be bought or sold.
- Be sure to label any plants or seeds you bring with the plant name, light preference, water preference and other notes.
- The library will provide basic transplanting supplies such as soil, water and some containers, as well as note cards if you forget to write down the plant details.
- The event is set to take place in the grassy area between the library parking lot and the larger parking lot to the east. Look for the two canopy tents. In the event of rain, we’ll be inside the library.
- If you have any questions, call the library at 314-645-6202.
