A mobile hotspot is a portable hardware device that connects to the same kind of cellular network as your phone. It converts the cellular signal into a wireless access point for connecting devices to the Internet.
Patrons may log on by selecting the “Browse as guest” button on the lower left-hand side of the home screen.

Equipment not returned by the due date or returned with missing components will have their replacement costs assessed to the patron’s account. Hotspots will be disconnected. Patrons will need to visit the Library to have the Chromebook assessed and to have any fines waived.
Yes, the devices have a web camera, speaker, and microphone.

Software cannot be installed. Chromebooks do not support programs being installed. Patrons may use web-based applications.
Yes, these services can be performed through the web browser. For Zoom, click on the meeting link and then look for the linked words “Join from Your Browser.”
When patrons log out of the “Guest” profile, their session ends, erasing any personal data/cache. The Library is not responsible for any files, data, or personal information accessed/transmitted while using the Chromebook. The Chromebook lending program is an opt-in service and is not bound to the Library's patron privacy policies. The Library does not have access to or collect specific usage data. The Library does not provide patron information to the service provider. The only data the Library collects are the circulation statistics for each piece of equipment.
