Studio: TESLA – Middle School

March 29 @ 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Calling all middle-schoolers!

Friday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Richmond Heights Library program room, meet Wash U. students from Studio: TESLA who will lead you through adventures in STEM!  From puking pumpkins to roller coasters, you’ll have a fresh challenge each week.  Best of all, you’ll meet new friends, have fun, and learn something new.

This program is free and open to all middle-school-aged students.  No registration is required, and all materials are provided.

What is Studio: TESLA?
TESLA stands for Teaching Engineering to Saint Louis Adolescents. We are a student-run
volunteer organization at WashU. Each week, we run weekly studios for middle schoolers where
students can engage with exciting hands-on STEM activities. For example, we have built
remote-controlled cars, aqueducts, and models of the lungs in the past. This year, we’ve
expanded our programming to the Richmond Heights Memorial Library!

Why?
At Studio: TESLA, we’re all about growing a passion for STEM education. For students who
have already found a love for STEM, Studio: TESLA is a great space to explore that hobby, learn
about topics above and beyond what they’ll see in the classroom, and get creative. For students
looking to strengthen their STEM skills, Studio: TESLA is a low pressure environment to learn
core concepts in a more hands-on way. Regardless of where students stand with STEM, we are
excited to bring our team of WashU engineers and scientists to your students so that we can
learn, design, and – above all else – have fun!
